I am very grateful for having had the privilege of knowing about Christian Science while growing up. I should like to express my gratitude for a healing which took place after an automobile accident some years ago.

With my parents and sister I was going to Albany, New York, to spend Christmas with my sister and her husband. We were within fifteen miles of our destination when two cars facing us. and even with each other, appeared over a hill. To keep from hitting a car we took the ditch, and as we came back on the highway our car turned over several times and I was thrown out. I was found under the top of the car, unconscious. The state patrol took my sister and me to the hospital. My sister immediately called a practitioner.

The doctors said I had a basal skull fracture and a broken shoulder blade, and could give my family no hope that I would live. Within seventy-two hours I became conscious and repeated "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468) after the practitioner who had been with me during this time. The doctors then said the X-ray pictures showed the bones to be knitting so nicely that they would not put bandages or casts on me, as these would only make me uncomfortable.
