Letters to the Press from Christian Science Committees on Publication

Luther K. Bell
Committee on Publication for Connecticut
Hartford Courant, Hartford

The Courant recently carried a feature, "Your Stars Today," in which, in connection with a discussion of prayer, there appeared the words, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." These words are taken from page 494 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

These words, lifted from a copyrighted book without due credit to the author, and inserted in a discussion of the supposititious influence of the stars on life, are familiar to many hundreds of thousands as coming from Science and Health, and may also be associated with Christian Science in the thought of thousands of others who are not so familiar with our church and its teachings. Because injustice and injury are thus done, I respectfully request that you print this letter of correction in your paper.
