I am realizing more and more how blessed everyone is who understands even in a degree Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." In its pages one may find revealed the healing power of Truth and Love for every ill.

I should like to relate how I was quickly healed through reading a few pages of this precious book. In preparing the meal one evening, I was using a saucepan over the gas stove. When the telephone rang, I hastily pulled the saucepan to one side, not realizing that I had left the handle over the flame. On returning to the kitchen I took hold of the handle, and was badly burned. The pain was intense, and I went to work immediately to see perfect God and perfect man, as we are taught to do in Science. As I went to my room, all sorts of evil suggestions came, the one most difficult to reject being: Tomorrow is Sunday, and you will never be able to play the organ for the children in Sunday School. And how will you explain it to them if you do not make your demonstration?

I opened my Science and Health at random and read. The words seemed to convey little to me because the pain was so intense. However, I persevered, and suddenly my eyes fell on two words, "senseless matter," and the truth implied in these words healed me. The hand, which had become closed, opened naturally and all pain was gone.
