Since childhood I have seen and experienced many healings through Christian Science treatment, including those of infantile paralysis, influenza, mumps, a nervous breakdown, and blood poisoning. I should like to tell of an outstanding healing in the hope that it may be helpful to others.

About five years ago, while on vacation with my family in the mountains of eastern Oregon, I was bitten on the hand by a tick. Not realizing what the little insect was, I flicked it off and thought nothing of it. The next day fever began to develop, and I tried to know the truth about perfect man as I had learned it in Christian Science. The next day I arrived home, and by that time I had every symptom of Rocky Mountain spotted fever. We called for help from a Christian Science practitioner, whose faithful work soon brought me relief.

During many quiet hours spent in meditation, I learned valuable lessons in patience and calmness. Once, when the pain was most severe, the words of one of our hymns came to my thought,
