Speak to me, Lord! Thy still small voice
Will sweeten the moil of the day;
Elijah heard it and so may I,
And so may I obey.
But should my ear be heavier. Lord,
Dulled by these clamorings,
Then as the voice of the multitude, speak;
As the voice of many waters, speak;
As mighty thunderings!
