Fort Worth, Texas (First Church).

Morning, afternoon, and evening dedicatory services of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Worth, Texas, were held on Sunday, February 4, 1945, in the church edifice, at Fourth and Lamar Streets. At each service a brief history of the church was read by the First Reader, an excerpt of which follows:

"First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Worth, was incorporated in March, 1897.

"In 1901 a lot at the corner of Terrell and St. Louis was donated and a building was erected thereon, in which services were held until 1905, when the present site was purchased. The residence on this ground was remodeled so as to provide an auditorium, a Reading Room, and Sunday school space. Three years later the Reading Room was moved to the First National Bank Building.

"In 1914 the basement of the present structure was erected, and services were there conducted until 1922, when work on the main auditorium was begun. The building was completed in 1923."
