It is with deep gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the revelation of Christian Science and its regenerating and healing power that I offer this testimony.

In December, 1927, I was for seven months seriously ill at a hospital in Norway, suffering from a nervous breakdown. All that could be done for me in the way of medical aid and different treatments had failed, and I was left a mental and physical wreck, seeing no way out of my suffering but to die. The hospital authorities had cabled my husband in South Africa that further treatment was hopeless, and that he must come and take me home.

In that hour, the darkest of my life, Christian Science was introduced to me by a cousin who visited me in the hospital and whom I had not seen for twenty years. This cousin, who had suffered from physical weakness since childhood, had learned of Christian Science on a visit to England, and had experienced a complete healing. She asked me to try Science, and I gladly consented.
