"And you are going right along with him, aren't you?" This was the spontaneous reply of a Christian Scientist to another Scientist, a mother who was somewhat anxiously telephoning her friend the news that her son, an Army aviator, was being ordered overseas.

"What do you mean, going along with him?" asked the mother in surprise.

She was then asked where this lad had been living, in so far as she was concerned. "Has he ever existed, to you, outside of your conscious sense of things?"
