Unerring Counsel

"Unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called ...... Counsellor," wrote the prophet Isaiah (Isa. 9:6), thus showing that he clearly understood that among the important functions of the Christ, Truth, is that of "Counsellor" or guide.

The necessity of deciding issues, both great and small, is thrust upon the individual many times every day. The alert Christian Scientist soon realizes that he has always at hand an unfailing, unerring guide to enable him to make wise and just decisions. This guide is the Christ, Truth, which was taught and demonstrated by Jesus of Nazareth.

Realizing that there is only one Mind, and that Mind is God, good, the individual gradually abandons the belief that he has a separate mind of his own, and that the weight of making decisions rests upon any such fallible human mind. The very presence and power of the one divine Mind can be continuously proved by all, for man, in reality, is a spiritual idea, the expression of God. There cannot possibly be any separation between Principle and idea, between the ever-present guidance of Mind and man.
