The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have been such a great source of comfort to me that I contribute this testimony with the hope that it may be of benefit to others.

I am deeply grateful for early training in this beautiful religion, and for the wisdom and faithfulness of my parents in requiring me to read the weekly Lesson-Sermon each and every morning before starting any other activity. This sound and wise habit has remained with me through the years and has proved a mainstay through many trying temptations and bitter experiences. At this point I should like to express my profound gratitude for the consecrated and inspired work of those who compile our weekly Lessons, and for the close communion with the divine Mind expressed by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, when she instituted the Lesson-Sermons.

I have been healed of many illnesses, including colds, influenza in a severe form, rheumatism, boils, burns, and, when a small child, mumps and chicken pox. I was also healed of a very severe illness which, as no physician was called to diagnose, I cannot with authority name. I was in bed for months in an extremely weakened condition, attended by hemorrhages, pain, and a high fever. The only diagnosis made was that of a graduate nurse, who declared that peritonitis had set in. Indeed, I seemed many times to be on the verge of passing on.
