Many years ago I suffered from...
Many years ago I suffered from the aftereffects of a surgical operation. A constant fear of passing on during one of very frequent sinking spells held me in bondage.
In Revelation we find these words (3:20): "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." The Christ, Truth, knocked at the door of my consciousness through a friend, who recognized my need and advised me to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I also attended the church services, and as some of the truth of the statements which I read and heard pierced the gloom, the fear lessened. I was then able to eat and sleep normally, and the condition referred to disappeared, never to return.
Like many another, when I was made comfortable in the flesh, I did not continue the study of Christian Science. With me it was as the seeds which "fell by the way side" (Matt. 13:4).
