Little People

They have been called "little people"—these lovers of liberty in the small nations who have been keeping sparks of freedom aglow in the midst of oppression, dictatorship, and domination. The day-by-day liberation of the little people takes on new significance when regarded as another forward step in the progress of mankind, another triumph in the struggle for the individual rights of man, and for a higher sense of freedom, rather than as a victory of nation over nation.

Typical of spiritual strengthening that is coming out of present world affairs are the experiences of the members of one family who have emerged triumphant from the darkness and disaster which surrounded them in a homeland of little people—triumphant and with a newborn power of Spirit, which has fully prepared them to take up the vital labors that lie ahead.

This family, hemmed in by all the privations that have been prevalent among the little people, found in their consecrated study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy that their problems were not peculiar to these times, but were age-old. In their dire need they learned with joy and gratitude that their problems had already been met and mastered in the experiences of others who had gone before, and they prayed for guidance in making practical application of these experiences.
