When I was but a small child...

When I was but a small child Christian Science came into our home through my father's healing of a serious physical malady. During the many years that have since passed, this Science of Christianity has proved of inestimable value to our family. There have been many physical healings, and we know Christian Science as a preventive as well as a curative agent.

I remember well having a very bad sore throat many years ago. Just a few minutes after I commenced to work in Science as we are taught to do, it completely vanished I became desperately ill some years back, but I do not know what the trouble was called. After treatment in Christian Science, however, I was back at my duties after five days' absence. I was once unable to hear very well for a while in one ear. I had treatment for (his for some time without results. One Wednesday evening a woman gave a testimony in regard to her father's healing of deafness. I went away from that meeting inspired, and carried with me some statements of truth given in that testimony. In just a few days I was healed too. Last year after one day's absence from work I was able to return to my duties, healed of an attack of influenza. I am also grateful for the understanding that comes enabling one to get along better with other people.

Just before my graduation from high school a very unexpected way opened for me to continue my education and finally to graduate from college. The statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 536), "The divine understanding reigns, is all, and there is no other consciousness," carried me over the trying periods when examinations were taken.
