The law of mortality drags down...The law of immortality lifts and sustains...Nor is this law of immortality operable only in some remote place to be reached by passing through the gates of a horror named death. If the heaven of which Jesus of Nazareth spoke were to be reached only beyond these evil boundaries, then surely the Scriptures would have named death a friend. But death is termed "the last enemy" and is spoken of as the teammate of sin. No. The law of God is in reach of us at the moment. It always has been and always will be. It is ready for those who are willing to leave the sty of mortal thought.
Now intellect cannot instruct us how to direct our lives so that the law of the kingdom of heaven may be made available to us. Knowledge in things of the world cannot teach us in the matter. We must be, as Jesus of Nazareth told us like little children, eager to turn to God's love, humble in our desire for instruction. Glad in the acceptance.
