In Isaiah 26:3 we read, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Over twenty years ago these words were quoted to me by a friend who is a devoted Christian Scientist, and they arrested my attention and awakened in me a desire to know something about Science. My children were small at that time and we lacked many things. In the years that have followed, we have earnestly studied and applied Christian Science in our home and have been able to prove many times the truth of the passage quoted above. Sickness, sorrow, disappointments, lack, and the results of accidents have been overcome through the truth.
There is an antidote for every ill. On page 233 of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says, "The counter fact relative to any disease is required to cure it," and on page 254 she says, "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path." I do not have words to express my gratitude for the Science which explains the Scriptures and was given to the world by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
At the passing on of a very dear one I was healed of sorrow through the clear realization of Life which I gained through the study of the first three verses of the third chapter of I John. My eldest son suffered a severe leg injury on the football field, but through his radical reliance on Christian Science in the face of strong opposition from the school doctors, he was completely healed. One daughter was able to discern something of the perfection of being, which resulted in a healing of misshapen feet. Another daughter, through her understanding of Christian Science, found a harmonious position and satisfactory living quarters in a distant city where she was a stranger. These and numerous other demonstrations have been made by my children, and they express gratitude for their training in the Christian Science Sunday School, to which they are now sending their children.
