In the Preface to Science and Health...

In the Preface to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." For a number of years I have found that, when I have faithfully relied on God each day has been filled with blessings and Christian Science has met my every need.

I have never had much need for physical healing, although many minor ailments, such as colds, a sprained wrist, insect bites, and skin infections, have been overcome through the application of the truth. I have found Christian Science, however, to be an invaluable help to me in my work. No matter what the job has been that I have had to do, or how big it has seemed to be, when I have realized that God supplies the intelligence, the wisdom, and the activity I need to express, the work has always proved to be harmonious and a blessing.

I am more grateful than I can say for the help that I have received during the time that I have served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. I was brought up in a sheltered, loving home, which I had never left except' for brief holiday periods. When the time came that it seemed right for me to volunteer, I did it, knowing that God guides and helps us in every way. The day that I left home to take up this new life, my consciousness was filled with those words of our Leader from "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (pp. 149, 150): "Remember, thou canst be brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee." I have truly found that, wherever I have had to go, Love has gone before me and been there to meet me; I have always been in harmonious surroundings and have had many instances of God's protective care.
