True Gain
Frequently , at Wednesday evening meetings in Christian Science churches, we hear testimonies of the finding of lost articles, or of the return of stolen valuables, through the application of Christian Science. To one unfamiliar with the teachings of this Science, such statements may appear farfetched.
How can the application of the forces of good, or spiritual law, result in the restoration of material objects? The answer is that it is not the return of something material which is primarily sought, but the healing of a sense of loss through the realization of the spiritual fact that man is incapable of being deprived of anything essential to his God-constituted completeness.
God, divine Mind, has no knowledge of materiality. God knows only spiritual reality. Therefore, the return of a lost article through spiritual knowing is the result of a healing in human consciousness of the negative sense of loss, as when one is healed of physical disease through understanding more of spiritual perfection.
