Never Give Up

He was a shipfitter in New England's largest shipyard, and was installing "swash lids" on fuel tanks of a large combat vessel. These tanks were along the bottom of the hull. He had reached the last one far up in the bow. Unfortunate circumstances related in his testimony in the Sentinel of June 2, 1945, resulted in his finding himself imprisoned in the tank, his only way of escape hopelessly blocked. No human aid could hear his calls for help.

To all appearances his position was hopeless. After all his efforts to loosen the bolts that imprisoned him had been unavailing, he put his hands in his lap and said. "God. I'm listening." From that moment Mind revealed to him the orderly steps, one at a time, to accomplish his freedom. He never gave up. There was a way out and when he was willing to listen, the always present Mind revealed it to him.
