Christian Science came to me at a time when f was having medical treatment for several minor physical ailments.

An elderly woman, a Christian Scientist, who came to help with the work in my home when the children were very young, was a shining example to me. She had recently lost her husband, her home, and all earthly possessions, yet she expressed such courage that I was much impressed. Also, her physical condition was so unusually good that I was ashamed to have her know of my petty annoyances. It was inevitable that I should mention them, however, and she graciously brought me the Christian Science Sentinel and a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Soon many minor healings look place in the family. A child was healed of measles when I studied and applied "the scientific statement of being," on page 468 of Science and Health. A bilious attack was healed through the understanding of the statement on page 463, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
