I am very grateful to Christian Science for the following instances of the protecting power of divine Love.

One night I was riding in a truck along a narrow mountain road when the vehicle struck a rock and plunged off the road. Immediately I declared that there are no accidents in Mind and twice repeated this declaration. Meanwhile the truck had traveled rapidly downhill, and after crashing over some boulders had struck a large tree and stopped. Just for a moment I remained where I was and declared that since in reality there had been no accident, no injury could have resulted.

I was then told that one of the passengers had been rendered unconscious. However, the moment I spoke to him he came to and replied that he was quite unharmed. Daylight investigation revealed that the vehicle had traveled about thirty yards from the road. The hill had a slope of one in three, and the tree we had struck was the only one large enough to arrest our movement. A few yards beyond the tree was a lake with a notice saying: "Danger. Deep Water." The escape was described by many as miraculous. It was talked about in my unit for days as remarkable, particularly as the wind screen in front of my face and the back of the seat against which I had been leaning were both smashed. Beyond a few bruises and a shaking, neither the passengers nor I suffered any ill effect.
