Prayer for the Congregation
Use
well this precious hour of communion.
On Love's pure altar keep the light aglow,
That you may share with all the congregation
The highest consciousness of good you know.
We cannot understand the heavenly wisdom
Which tenderly supplies the needs of all
While we indulge vain, self-absorbed petitions
Which neither hear nor heed another's call.
What need has one that does not find inclusion
In what advantages the common good?
And praying thus, no taint of earth can hinder
Man's dawning concept of true brotherhood.
None to himself can live in demonstration.
For Love, to heal and save, must shine abroad.
Who seeks his highest good through ministration
Can never lack the outstretched arm of God.
