For over twenty years I have enjoyed the blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science. I wish to relate a few of my experiences which have given me cause for deep gratitude.

The relief I felt from a very discordant condition after one treatment by a Christian Science practitioner convinced me that the Christ. Truth, taught by Christian Science is the same as that which Jesus taught when he was on earth, and although I did not understand the method, I was determined to learn more about it. Soon after I began this study my mother passed on, and I had a severe testing time. I had hoped she would accept Christian Science, but she did not seem ready for it. It was some time before I could understand this trial, when I had been so sure that everything could be healed through Christian Science. I have learned throughout the years, however, how tenaciously mortal mind clings to sin, sickness, and death, and it is only "here a little, and there a little," that Truth is accepted in human consciousness.

Several years ago I was suffering from a severe nervous condition which impaired my health and made the road ahead seem very dark. I could neither sleep nor eat regularly, and I lost weight rapidly. When the aggressive mental suggestion came that some strange thing was happening to me. I seemed unable to conquer the fear. So I lost no time in calling a practitioner, who agreed to help me. For some time, however. I did not get the peace of mind I needed, and the work was continued. Many times after a sleepless night I called the practitioner and told her I was very discouraged. She never faltered or allowed me to think it was a hopeless case, but said, "You will see the light: I know you will."
