In January, 1919, at the recommendation of a medical nurse, I began to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. While reading this book I was healed of an inguinal hernia of many years' standing, a healing so convincing that I turned completely to the study of Science.

In the years that followed all problems incidental to the bringing up of two children were solved quickly, and progress in understanding brought us all into better health. Looking back over the past twenty-five years we can say with gratitude that illness in our home has been very rare.

Perhaps a demonstration of the power of Truth to provide supply will be of help to others. Upon graduation from high school our daughter desired to continue her education, and although funds for such an undertaking were, not available we were encouraged by Christian Science friends to work this out in Science. Our attention was called to the fact that our Leader favored education. We chose a college in a town where a Christian Science church was easily accessible, so that there might be no break in our daughter's Sunday school instruction. A small scholarship received about this time gave us much courage and the assurance that God was with us.
