Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Hoquiam, Washington (First Church).

Formal dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hoquiam, took place on Sunday, February 27, 1944.

The steady growth of this church dates back to its organization, August 8, 1907. Services were first held in the A. O. U. W. Hall, and the following May steps were taken toward building a church edifice. Two lots at the present location, Seventh and L Streets, were purchased, and in August, 1908, plans for the edifice were adopted and construction was begun.

The first meeting was held in the church on February 1, 1909. First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hoquiam, was incorporated on August 20, 1910. In 1925, the church was entirely free from debt, but because extensive alterations and repairs were imperative, the dedication was postponed.—Grays Harbor Washingtonian.
