Christian Science was presented to me during 1937, at a time when all material means had failed. I was going through very deep waters. An old friend pointed out the need for me to love more. At the time he did not mention that he was endeavoring to present Christian Science to me, knowing full well that the religion I was then pursuing was not in sympathy with anything connected with the Christian faith. He shortly thereafter revealed to me that it was the study and application of Christian Science which was giving him an opportunity to know peace of mind, the peace beyond human understanding. I was soon able to welcome this religion of Love, Christian Science, and I began to see a new heaven and earth open up before me. There was no more sickness.

I had been deaf since childhood, but this condition was overcome. At first I was directed to a front seat at the church services, but shortly after I began to attend I was able to sit in an}' part of the church, and to follow the reading from the desk clearly and distinctly. Severe headaches of long duration were overcome with one Christian Science treatment from a friend during 1938, and there has been no relapse.

I wish to express my very sincerest gratitude to God for the many blessings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. I am very grateful for our literature, for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for the understanding I gained from class instruction. I am ever so grateful for the loving practitioners, and the many friends who have helped me over the rough places on the road from sense to Soul. I have learned to interpret divine service as an expression of my gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this demonstrable and practical religion.
