Church Dedication
The subject of church dedication arises sooner or later in Christian Science branch churches, and formal dedication takes place only when the church is free from financial debt.
Webster defines "dedicate," in part, as "to devote to the service or worship of a divine being, or to sacred uses. To set apart to a definite use or service." When viewed in this light, dedication takes on for the individual a continuing aspect, and Christian Scientists view it as a daily activity rather than as a completed financial transaction.
From the absolute point of view Church may be considered as that which is within the consciousness of man rather than as something outside himself which only occasionally claims his attention.
