This testimony is written with a great desire that others may profit by my experience and turn to God in time of trouble.

Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 548): "How little light or heat reach our earth when clouds cover the sun's face!. So Christian Science can be seen only as the clouds of corporeal sense roll away." All the dark clouds over me rolled away when Christian Science came to me explaining God and my relationship to Him. Twelve years ago I was like the woman in the Gospel of Mark who "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." I had undergone three major operations and two minor ones when the verdict was given to me that medical science could do nothing more for me. I was told that I should be a semi-invalid the rest of my days. My extremity was God's opportunity. One night when I was in excruciating pain I did not do the usual thing—turn to opiates for temporary relief— but I turned to God as understood in Christian Science, and within a month I found health, happiness, and a sense of peace which I had never before experienced.

When our daughter was three years of age, she had paralysis, measles, and pneumonia within a period of six weeks, but with complete faith in and reliance on the power of God, and with the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner and nurse she was completely restored to health within a short time.
