After many years of blessings experienced through the study and application of Christian Science, a deeper sense of gratitude to God prompts me to tell how this truth was given to me.

Christian Science was drawn to my attention over thirty-two years ago. A loved one had just passed on, and uppermost in my thoughts were the words of Martha, spoken to Christ Jesus: "Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died."

There was little comfort in the fact that I had read my Bible each day since joining an orthodox church in early childhood and had faithfully attended church services, for this devotion had not met my need. My prayers were unanswered. Heartsick, I prayed for understanding.
