Expecting the Evidence

Truth and its evidence is one. In the degree we realize the presence of spiritual truth, the testimony of the material senses, which only seems to be true, disappears. It never was present to Truth; it never had any real substance. Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, makes this clear on page 30 of her work "No and Yes." She says, "It is Truth's knowledge of its own infinitude which forbids the genuine existence of even a claim to error."

If Christian Science treatment is to be of any use to humanity, we must not merely voice statements of truth as one would blow soap bubbles into the air. If Principle is divine, it must be infallible. If it is infallible, there must be evidence of its truth: and if we understand the control which Principle holds over the universe, we should expect to see specific evidence of that perfection here and now. There is no time process involved when one changes one's viewpoint from a false sense of things to the true idea of being.

If Life is eternal and self-existent, and it is, it cannot include any destructive element. Neither sin nor disease is known to Life. If we accept this perfect standard we must expect our present experience to be freed from the restrictions that would hem us in.
