A young man was presented with a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. On the flyleaf the donor had written, "This book will point you to the truth which will make you free."

The young man wondered how the truth contained in the book could possibly free him. Was Christian Science really true? Was it based on definite rules, the application of which would heal him, free him from lack, bring him the satisfaction and joy he wished? He determined to find out for himself.

Very soon after starting to study the textbook, he found that the desire for tobacco had left him and a little later he found himself reading without glasses. He had been a slave to tobacco and had worn glasses since he was a young boy. He then called on a Christian Science practitioner whose card he found in The Christian Science Journal and asked for treatment for a rheumatic condition of long standing. To his amazement, he was quickly freed. In a short time he was able to establish his own business. This young man, now grown to maturity, has found Christian Science ever available and ever efficacious.
