Don't Be Afraid!

[Of Special Interest to Young Children]

Being afraid never brings happiness. Fear does not come from happy, quiet thoughts. It comes from thoughts which say, "God is not here, and I am alone and don't know what to do next."

Of course, those are not true thoughts. Fearful thinking tricks you into believing that God is not with you and doesn't care what happens to you, which is all a lie. The Bible says, "The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you." God did not give you ugly thoughts of fear. They belong to error; so why not let error keep them? You don't want them.

Christian Science teaches everyone plainly how to keep out frightened thoughts with love. Once a dear friend of Christ Jesus', named John, wrote in a letter, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear."
