This acknowledgment of what I owe to Christian Science is made with heartfelt gratitude to God for the health, joy, and peace that Christian Science has brought to me.

Many years ago a friend of my mother's came to stay with us for a time, and, seeing my mother's need, told her something of Christian Science. I listened eagerly to her explanations and to the reading of the Lesson-Sermons with a growing realization that I wanted to know more about a religion which teaches that God is Love and explains how to demonstrate this in daily life.

Proof of the healing efficacy of Christian Science soon came in the healing of varicose veins, for which my mother had worn a rubber stocking for several years. The stocking was discarded and never again needed. About the same time I was healed almost instantly of sick headache, from which I previously had suffered several days at a time. These and other healings increased our interest, and on moving to Boston shortly afterward my mother and I attended services in The Mother Church, and later had the privilege of becoming members.
