One Peacemaker
It is generally conceded that humanity must look far beyond the cessation of hostilities for a guarantee of lasting peace. While world leaders are discussing plans for bringing order out of chaos, they also are searching for effective means of holding the evil of war in check. On the latter point there are conflicting opinions.
Mary Baker Eddy has revealed the only sure foundation for lasting peace in a statement on page 467 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." She says: "It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established."
The wisdom of this spiritual approach to security and harmony was stated centuries ago in the book of Job: "Acquaint now thyself with him [God], and be at peace." This advice has timely and deep significance today when considered in the light of Christian Science, which, with Scriptural authority, reveals the real man as spiritual and perfect, made in the image and likeness of God.
