The Way

With prophetic vision Isaiah declared, "And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein." Is not this what all the world is seeking today—a way so sure, so well-defined, that the simplest "shall not err therein"? A way out of the darkness and desolation of war into the light and harmony of enduring peace.

Through the ages many have believed that happiness and success could be won through aggression and self-aggrandizement. Others believed them attainable through selfish isolationism. History and present-day events have proved both methods wrong. The greatest spiritual teacher of all times, Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, taught by both precept and example that genuine happiness and its concomitants, health, peace, and prosperity, are to be found only in one way, the way of unselfed love. Thousands of Christian Scientists all over the world bear grateful testimony to the practicability of this teaching; and it is their grave but joyous responsibility to keep the torch of spiritual understanding aglow that it may light the way for others. In the words of Shakespeare,
