James Perry, Christian Science Committee on Publication for Manitoba, Canada The Roblin Review

With reference to the article entitled "The Psychology of Fear," which was published in one of your recent issues, I note and am grateful for the friendly reference that was made to Christian Science.

In Christian Science it is learned that fear is the foundation of disease, and that, when fear is wholly removed from thought, healing takes place and disease disappears. Jesus constantly admonished those who came to him for healing to cast fear out of thought. He said to Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue who came to him for the healing of his only daughter, '"Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole." John tells us that "perfect love casteth out fear." Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in Science and Health (p. 454), "The understanding, even in a degree, of the divine All-power destroys fear, and plants the feet in the true path,—the path which leads to the house built without hands 'eternal in the heavens.'"
