When, after the last World War,...
When, after the last World War, I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of heart trouble, chronic indigestion, and a severe form of rheumatism.
Mrs. Eddy writes on page 63 of Science and Health: "In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry." It was while I was reading this passage that I got a glimpse of the truth of being and began to see that I need neither fear nor accept the claims of heredity. As I continued reading the book, the healing came. I found myself eating all foods and running about normally. That was a blessed experience, for it was my introduction to the study of Christian Science.
Since then I have had many healings, with and without the help of a practitioner, some instantaneous, some that needed patient persistence on my part in holding to my understanding of the nature of God and of man's relationship to Him.
