"Who did hinder you?"

At no time in the world's history has there been a greater necessity for alertness concerning the nature of thoughts entertained— whether they be of God, healing, sustaining, and protecting, or are expressions of the general mortal concept, mesmeric, fearful, and obstructive.

There are few students of Christian Science who have not at some time been touched with thoughts of grief, doubt, and fear which have caused them to falter and be discouraged. At such times the wise student will not linger by the wayside to lament error's machinations and its manifold attempts to obscure vision and delay spiritual progress. Neither will he stop to question the why or wherefore of them. But he will strive to master those phases of error by making a more earnest endeavor to admit only such thoughts as originate in unalterable Truth.

Nothing more appropriate for use today can be found than the fundamental and vital instructions which Jesus gave to his disciples for their direction and protection: "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. ... As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love." Only as one remains faithful to and constant in Truth is he able to identify himself with the power of divine Love.
