Let Us Not Fear Change

The tendency of mankind often is to oppose change, even though the change would mean human betterment. Fear of the future, with uncertainties that might accompany change, often tempts mortals to stand pat in the pits of the present. Apathy to the need for human advancement would, if we consent, bury us in the ruts of rumination.

Signs, however, multiply which indicate that men are becoming more and more willing to change their views and their values. So doing, their conditions of existence will change. Human thought is becoming less adamant, more in flux. The need for tremendous changes, before the human race attains the health, justice, unity, and peace forecast by the Master as humanity's lot, is being recognized. The march of progress gains momentum as day follows day. Are you and I in the forefront, or with the stragglers?

A few, throughout history, have demanded change, and more change. The Bible from Genesis to Revelation demands change. The earth's greatest man, Christ Jesus, was the most radical supporter of spiritual improvement. He found but little in the then thinking of men worthy of continuance. The ignorance, hypocrisy, fear, hate, ritualism, poverty, sickness, sin, and material-mindedness of men he demanded should be changed, and, more important, he showed how the change could be accomplished.
