Christian Science Committee on Publication for Northern California Reports

During the year newspapers have refrained from publishing misinformation on Christian Science—a testimony to the friendly feeling that has been developed with publishers and editors. Authors of books containing inaccurate subject matter have accepted corrective material for subsequent editions. When corrective material has not been accepted by the author your Committee in person or through his assistants has protested with encouraging results the use of certain books in our schools. In a number of instances radio stations have read over the air letters from your Committee correcting false impressions of Christian Science which had been broadcast. Ministers have shown increased tolerance towards Christian healing, and wherever possible a feeling of Christian fellowship with them and their churches has been created and fostered.

Occasionally the assistance of an attorney has been secured on legal points involving possible restriction of the rights of our members, practitioners, nurses, churches, societies, or Sanatorium. This office gives out much information to Christian Scientists on public health regulations, and in numerous instances has been instrumental in adjusting differences and in maintaining friendly relations of our people with public health officials.

The records of healing and inspiration from our radio programs which have come to this office amply justify the continuance and enthusiastic support of this activity. The broadcasters of these programs deserve praise for their generous services, which are so willingly rendered.
