Christian Scientists very much...

Southport Visiter

Benson Tatham Woodhead, Committee on Publication for Lancashire Southport Visiter

Christian Scientists very much appreciate and thank Looker-On for the kindly spirit expressed in the interesting article in the Visiter describing a visit paid to a recent service at the Christian Science church in Southport. In referring to the convictions of Christian Scientists, however, your correspondent has made a statement which may give quite a wrong impression of Christian Science, and this is repeated in the short article entitled "New Religions," which you published.

Your original article says. "From what one gathered, Christian Science members get along very well with will power and self-reliance." If by that it is understood that Christian Scientists strive always to be obedient to the will of God, and to rely wholly on God as their creator and protector —that is, to be God-reliant—that is indeed the truth about Christian Science.
