In 1915, when I was carrying my fifth child, the woman for whom I was working told me that I would find it helpful to read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I did not believe her, but I had experienced so much suffering with my other children (on one of these occasions I had stayed in the hospital for seven weeks) that I decided to try it. I read both day and night. One day I became aware of the fact that my time was short, and called a taxi to take me to the hospital. The taxi arrived twenty minutes after I had given birth to a nine and a half pound baby. Later the doctor arrived, and after examining me, gave me ten days to live. My son is now twenty-six years old, and he has never been troubled with diseases of any kind.

Since then I have been healed of blood poisoning, a sprained ankle, and frostbite, and have found articles which were believed to have been lost.

In 1938, my family and I experienced protection from injury when we were motoring back home from a visit out West. While we were passing through the desert, our car turned over in a ditch. I wired back home, a distance of seventeen hundred miles, and four hours after the practitioner got my message we were able to start home; and even though the car was badly damaged, the motor worked perfectly.
