Messages to Servicemen and Service women Overseas

Due to necessarily strict cable censorship, messages addressed to servicemen and servicewomen overseas, or to representatives of The Mother Church, indicating the need for the immediate services of a Christian Science Officiating or Wartime Minister, are not always acceptable for transmittal. Parents and relatives of servicemen and servicewomen in the armed forces of the United States may, if they wish, send such messages to The Christian Science Board of Directors at 107 Falmouth Street, Boston, Massachusetts, to be transmitted either to those in the service or to the nearest representative of The Mother Church. The following details should accompany such message:
1. Rank, name. Army Serial number, and Army Post Office
number.
2. For messages intended for representatives of The Mother
Church, the general overseas area in which the person is
believed to be located.
3. Other helpful details of the case, and whether a local practitioner is caring for the case until the need is met otherwise.
4. Full name and address of the sender of the message.

Those desiring to defray the cost of such cabled messages may enclose a contribution to The Mother Church Wartime Fund for the purpose.

Transportation to Annual Meeting

Recognizing the unusual demands which are being made upon the transportation systems of our country in the present emergency, and with the desire to co-operate with the United States Office of Defense Transportation, The Christian Science Board of Directors recommends that all members of The Mother Church living at a considerable distance from Boston, before making plans to attend the Annual Meeting to be held on June 7, discuss with their local transportation agents the advisability of making the trip this year.

It will be especially helpful if those at a distance who find the trip can be made will time their arrangements, so far as possible, so as to arrive in Boston not later than Friday morning, June 4, and not leave before Tuesday, June 8. This will leave transportation facilities relatively free for the use of men and women in the army and navy services over the week end.
