"Infinity's reflection"

Under the marginal note "Infinity's reflection," Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 258): "Man is more than a material form with a mind inside, which must escape from its environments in order to be immortal. Man reflects infinity, and this reflection is the true idea of God."

Finite, material sense, being the opposite of infinity or spirituality, fails to see or acknowledge that the real man, to be God's likeness or reflection, must be spiritual. Finity is darkness, fear, limitation, chaos. Infinity, which the real man reflects, is light, joy, contentment, boundless freedom, the atmosphere of Love, which has never been invaded by and never can be evil.

Without the original there could be no reflection, for it is an exact image and spontaneously mirrors the activity and characteristics of that which it reflects. To obtain true reflection, light, stillness, and unity or oneness are necessary.
