The testimonies of healing in our periodicals have been such a help and inspiration to me that I too desire to express my gratitude for Christian Science.

As a young girl I was a member of an orthodox church, but after both my parents had passed on I drifted away from it. It no longer seemed to meet my needs, since I could not reconcile myself to the belief that illness and death were God's will.

Several years later I attended a Wednesday testimony meeting at a Christian Science church with a friend, and felt that what I heard must be the truth, although it seemed "too good to be true." This friend lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and through the change brought about in my thinking by reading this book I was healed within ten days of the need for wearing glasses, although I had been told by an oculist that I should always have to wear them. My eyes had also bothered me greatly when reading or sewing by artificial light. Shortly after this healing, it was necessary for me to work in an office almost entirely by such light, which I was able to do in perfect comfort. This healing occurred about eighteen years ago, and has been permanent.
