Christian Science first came to...
Christian Science first came to my attention in 1910, when a loving aunt sent a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to our pioneer home in semi-arid northwest Texas. The seed sown then has since borne much fruit. I soon took up the study earnestly, and recently a younger brother has also become deeply interested.
In those early days I had never heard of The Christian Science Monitor, but now I wish to relate how this great newspaper helped establish me in business. Eight years ago I found myself out of gainful employment. I could not reconcile my jobless state to that of an earnest student of Christian Science, which I was sincerely striving to be.
I began to take stock of what I had "in the house." Since I had left college, much of my activity had been in the writing field, reporting, publicity work, advertising, and finally feature articles; also, for two years I had done considerable revision for others.
