"Rouse ye"
These are days that arouse one to do the best thinking of which he is capable. It is not sufficient to believe that all will work out harmoniously, for conditions are fraught with possibilities too grave to base our hopes for improvement on mere beliefs. It is essential that we understand and know that God's law governs the universe, and that man is and will continue to be obedient to this law.
What is this divine law which governs all? In "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1) Mary Baker Eddy defines Christian Science as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."
Since Christian Science is "the law of God," it is the law of Mind, of Principle. Since it interprets and demonstrates good, it must be active; it must be the manifestation of Soul, establishing harmony in all right activity. Therefore, there is no room for lack—lack of opportunity, of happiness, of health, of peace. There is no room for fear, discouragement, apathy, or any other form of inertia where God's law is ever active.
