During childhood I was always...
During childhood I was always subject to tonsillitis, sometimes being confined to my bed for two or three weeks at a time. After my marriage I lived in Minnesota, and some time later became a student of Christian Science. One time when my daughter and I were visiting my home town in the East, I was taken with a severe attack of tonsillitis. There were no Christian Scientists there of whom I could ask help, and I knew I must do the work myself.
This thought came to me: "I am the Lord, 'who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.'" I held to this thought, and sometimes I would add, "And He didn't exempt tonsillitis." After I had done this for about five hours I was healed. The symptoms were gone and I fell asleep and slept until morning. The only reminder of the trouble was a sense of weakness, which soon disappeared. This healing took place twenty-three years ago, and I have never had a return of the trouble.
I am very grateful for this healing and for many more that my family and I have had through Christian Science. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for giving Christian Science to the world and also for all the periodicals.—(Mrs.) Mary Eudora Simmons, Monticello, Minnesota.
