The Panoply of Love

The greatest discovery ever made is that God is Love. This is fully revealed by the Word of God, the Holy Bible, and its divine correlative, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Through consecrated study of these two God-inspired volumes we begin to discern the glorious truth that God is not a changeable, unknowable, physical personality, as the world for centuries has believed Him to be, but is the one infinite, eternal divine Principle, to be adoringly loved, understood, and demonstrated by all.

God is known as Love because of the constant proofs of His ever vigilant care for His idea, man. God never loses sight of man, His own image and likeness. He embraces him tenderly and eternally within the allness of His infinite, immortal being. When we view man and the universe from the standpoint of the oneness and allness of Love, we see only the creation or ideas of Love in all the minutiae of our daily lives.

In this infinitude of Love and its ideas there is neither time nor place for hate, the suppositional opposite of Love. Hate is not an idea or quality of Love, Mind, but a mere suggestion of the so-called mortal mind. In Science and Health (p. 114) Mrs. Eddy writes, "As Mind is immortal, the phrase mortal mind implies something untrue and therefore unreal; and as the phrase is used in teaching Christian Science, it is meant to designate that which has no real existence." At no time or place is Love actually occupied in overcoming or exterminating hate, for no such quality of thought exists. We cannot fear hate when we realize that in reality there is no hate to fear. There is only one logical reason why fear of any kind is inadmissible, and that is that in the allness of God, good, there is nothing to fear.
