I owe a great debt of gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her wonderful teachings, her patience, and her love for all mankind, and it is with a heart filled with love that I now acknowledge to the world my many proofs of God's care experienced through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but to alleviate the great sadness which I experienced when I found myself left alone after the passing of my parents. Since then I have had many proofs of God's healing power. I knew nothing of Christian Science until I was asked to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting by guests who shared my table at the hotel where I was staying. I did not accept this teaching readily, and it was not until I had attended the third meeting that I found any change in my concept of it.

The night of the third meeting I felt a great sense of peace, and after I reached my hotel it increased and for the first time in many months I had a real night's rest. The next day I was lent a copy of Science and Health, and upon receiving it, I found I already had one, the gift of a dear friend of my mother's, and this little book had traveled around the world with me.
