Hear His Voice

O nations, hear His voice which spake,
"Be still and know that I am God;"
Go forth, the bonds of slavery break,
Thy weapon Truth's correcting rod.
For He is God, there is none beside
To wrest the power from out His hand,
And they who in His law abide
Shall yet behold the promised land.

Destroy in self each baneful thought,
And cast the beam from thine own eye;
Think not the power of Love to thwart
With hate or greed, with lust or lie.
Nor fear the strength of evil's claim,
On land, on sea, or in the air;
For sin must burn in sin's own flame,
Till Truth reveals the vision fair.

When Pharaoh rose with Egypt's might
To follow after Israel's host,
God saved His people in their plight.
And rendered void the tyrant's boast.
O hearken all, for now this power
Is with us still to lead us on.
A sure defense in darkest hour,
To guard and guide till victory's won.
